Once upon a time…
…1001 nights ago…
In distant Phoenicia it was still very early, and the sun was sweeping away the first veils of night. In the harbor, however, there was already a great deal of activity.
Near the temple of Hadad, Abibaal of Tyros loaded his ship with rare goods from the Orient.
Farbstoffe, Gewürze, Lampenöl, prunkvolle Stoffe und edle Metalle wurden verladen.
However, Abibaal kept one very special artifact in his cabin: the magical chandelier of Baal Hadad from the temple of the god of fertility and thunder!
The destination of the journey was the distant shores in northern Germania.
As the sun reached its zenith, the crew was ready and the lines were cast off. Abibaal was in good spirits, and with a fresh breeze at her back, the Phoenix set sail.
After leaving the port of Tyre, the Phoenix sped across the sea like an arrow in perfect weather. The tanned old sea dogs put extra effort into the oars to gain even more speed!
Passing Cyprus and Crete, along the coasts of Greece and Italy.
They passed through Sicily, Sardinia and the Balearic Islands, where they stopped to take on provisions.
Then they continued towards Gadir, from where they ventured through the narrow gateway of Gibraltar into the wild sea of the North!
Abibaal of Tyros was worried, and his features darkened like the sky over the Atlantic.
A storm arose and the darkness of evening descended. The winds of the god Hadad lashed the sea, and the crew battled the storm all night long. The Phoenix sliced through waves and spray like a knife, always on a northerly course, until they reached the Rhine and the northern mists replaced the storm.
At this time, the oracle, the Flame of Medea, spoke to Elvarin Thalor, the Archomagus of the Thor's Hammer Guild, and told of the powerful artifact, the Baal Hadad chandelier, which a Phoenician trader would bring to Germania.
The guild quickly dispatched the Heart Runner Ranunkel with a message to examine and procure the chandelier for the Nordic guild mage Faelwen Luxflamma of the Gentle Glow. Her expertise with magical chandeliers and flames is undisputed within the guild! She immediately set off towards the Elbe, where the Phoenician was to dock.
The settlement's market was already bustling with activity when Faelwen arrived. A large crowd flocked in, curious to see the wares of the merchant from distant lands.
Abibaal of Tyros caused a stir of curious wonder when Faelwen asked him to bring forth the Baal Hadad chandelier, which he then presented to the crowd. Faelwen immediately sensed the power contained within the artifact, but she gave nothing away. She acquired the chandelier and its lamp oil and brought it to the guild halls.
The chandelier is directly connected to the powers of Hadad and allows one to influence weather events and any kind of fertility if one lights the flames in the correct order and invokes Baal Hadad.
